THE ROLE OF LANGUAGE WORD-FORMATION PATTERNS IN THE DEFINITION OF THE PROXIMITY OF THE SLAVIC AND BALTIC LANGUAGES

Abstract: 

The article deals with the word-formation patterns that are extremely close to the Baltic (primarily Lithuanian) and Slavic languages and indicate their relationship and genetic proximity. The material for the study were the adjectives from the ancient Indo-European formant *tŏ, which functional features are the same in the compared languages.
