CONCEPTUALIZATION OF THE IMAGE OF AMERICA IN THE ENGLISH LITERATURE OF THE XX-CENTURY

Abstract: 

The article describes the evolution of fictional representations of America in the English literature of the twentieth century, characterized by the evolution from the cultural stereotypes to the conceptual realization of two fundamental concepts: the nation-"rival" and culture-"successor".
