ТЕRRITORY AND PERIODIZATION OF THE RUSSIAN-LUGOVSKOY LATE MESOLITHIC CULTURE IN THE MIDDLE VOLGA REGION

Abstract: 

In the article the boundaries of the Russian-Lugovskoy Late Mesolithic culture of the Middle Volga region are clarified. Two stages of its development are designated. Its early stage is dated to the boreal period. The late stage begins at the end of the boreal and the beginning of the Atlantic period due to the invasion of the Lower Volga Mesolithic people, who brought along the “steppe” traditions of stone tool manufacture.
