THE INTERACTION OF MICROORGANISMS WITH FIRM SURFACES IN THE PROCESS OF CLEANING OF THE LOCAL OIL POLLUTION

Abstract:

The degrading activities of selected bacterial strains and their associations directed towards fuel oil in liquid media were studied. Three and four-member associations composed preferably by Brevibacterium, Pseudomonas, Flavobacterium strains demonstrated the highest degrading efficiencies. No enhancement was achieved when the number of association members was increased to ten strains. The population stability of any member strain was found to depend on the association composition.
