SPECIFIC CHARACTER OF EDUCATION WITHIN THE "PEDAGOGICS OF LIBERTY"

Abstract: 

This article discloses the specific character of up-bringing and education, given in the so called free schools. It is closely connected with the teacher’s belief in the child’s creative abilities, and is focused on each child’s acquiring his own experience which leads to the harmonious development of the personality. The author of the article also points out that the role of the teacher should be regarded as the role of a senior companion in the process of organization of the life of the group where the child is the real master but not the passive object of up-bringing.
