THE ROLE OF KAZAN ACADEMIC SOCIETIES IN PRESERVING THE ARCHIVE HERITAGE (END OF THE 19TH – 1920-s)

Abstract: 

The article is devoted to the specificity of Kazan academic societies’ activities in preserving the archive heritage at the end of the 19th century – 1920-s. Working on different archive collections, academic societies both in the city and in province, we paid a special attention to the academic significance of the collections. Academic community realized the necessity of preserving the archive heritage as a special way of academic continuity. It is also possible to mention a specific role of personal factor – personal interest or its absence – in the development of theory and practice of archive work.
