POST-COLONIAL PROBLEMS IN THE ENGLISH LITERATURE OF THE MID-TWENTIETH CENTURY

Abstract: 

This paper deals with the problem of adaptation of British culture to the post-colonial situation of the mid-twentieth century (on the example of the novels by G.Green and A.Burgess). The variety of forms of hybrid identity becomes one of the main themes of A.Burgess’ The Malayan Trilogy that occupies the intermediate position between colonial and post-colonial English novel.
