EAST AND WEST: SPIRITUAL BONDS AS THE SYNERGETIC TYPE OF THINKING

Abstract:

The article deals with the postulates of medieval Arabic philosopher Ibn Arabi that express a synergetic type of thinking. The problem of cognition of the world as the synthesis of different views in understanding Being and God is in the focus of the author’s attention. The author of the article points out the importance of the system approach to the mentioned problem in Russian Literary Studies within the bounds of which the main principles of synergy, so called metamethodology, were worked out. The article also speculates on the contribution of symbolists to the formation of the synergetic type of thinking in the 20th century. Some statements of symbolists relating to the spiritual bond of East and West, following from the realization of the potential of a symbolic image, have much in common with the works of philosophers of avant-garde, such as T.Adarno, K.Jaspers, M.Heidegger, etc.

Key words:

synergy, synergetic type of thinking, spiritual bond, unity of diversity, synthesis of cultural traditions
