META PLOT IN BORIS PASTERNAK’S CREATIVE WORK WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE CONCEPT OF BEAUTY

Abstract:

The article deals with the ways of constructing the plots in the works by Boris Pasternak. He often uses synonymous plots and motives, that form a unified plot – meta plot. Semantically some of these plots refer to one of the "ready plots" in the world literature about a sleeping or kidnapped Beauty. In the book My Sister – Life this motive comes together with the reduced love story. In his lyric poetry of 1940s Pasternak gives other interpretations to this plot. It turns into a folklore fairy tale and other genres which tell about the deeds of the saints (hagiographies, apocryphal works). The idea of the play A Blind Beauty is also considered within the context of this meta plot.

Key words:

meta plot, cyclic plot, motive, archetypical motive, isomorphic
