The article is dedicated to the problem of genres in postmodern literature. In the present time, when traditional genre models become the object of deconstruction or an author's game, the study of the genre structures requires new approaches and methods. We speculate on this issue on the example of Peter Ackroyd’s novel The House of Doctor Dee.
