Sociolinguistic competence of teachers in the school pedagogical discourse


The article discusses sociolinguistic competence as a linguodidactical phenomenon and analyzes activities for teachers in the course of language learning. The article begins with defining sociolinguistic competence and its place in the competence-based approach. The components of sociolinguistic competence are described (rules of politeness, communication registers, linguistic markers of social relations, dialects, accents and proverbs). The authors note that sociolinguistic components have a significant impact on the shape of verbal interaction between people of different cultures in schools in the Republic of Tatarstan. Finally, the conclusion is made about the importance of sociolinguistic competence in the classroom pedagogical discourse.
