Russian nouns with the suffixes «-ак» and «-як» and the ways of their translation into the Persian language

Abstract:

In the Russian language, nouns with the word-formative suffixes “-ак” and “-як” can be used to express someone’s occupation (i.e. моряк – seaman/sailor), a country, location or town, where this person lives (i.e. пермяк – Permian), external, character, ethnographical or social attributes of a person (i.e. бедняк – a poor man), or they can point to the action named by a word-formative verb which generates this noun (i.e. вожак- leader). In the Persian language, these words are often expressed by a combination of a noun and an adjective. However, these adjectives differ depending on their meaning. This study analyzes these nouns with the suffixes “-ак” and “-як” and considers the ways of their translation into the Persian language.
