The poem «Orans» by I.F.Zhdanov as an ensemble of semiotic formations

Abstract: 

This article analyzes I.F.Zhdanov’s poem "Orans" written in the genre of “ekfrasis”, its general figurative and symbolical means which make it possible to execute an intersemiotic dialogue: metabola, light, circle, and square. It also identifies a connection between the text of the poem and iconographic traditions. The authors come to the conclusion that the specified poem represents a unique "ensemble of multilingual semiotic formations".
