Spatial semantics of the prolative case in the Khakass language

Abstract:

The article studies spatial semantics of the prolative case in the Khakass language. The prolative case is one of the spatial cases expressing a movement trajectory. In the description of the prolative case semantics, four spatial values are distinguished: a route, a scene, a passage and a roadside. It has been established that the values of a route, a passage and a roadside are realized with the verbs of directed movement, while a scene value is realized with the verbs of non-directed movement. The article also identifies the semantic types of names in which the given types of the prolative case values are used.

Key words:

prolative case, semantics of the case, Khakass language, spatial cases.
