Techniques for studying children’s compliance with rules in a normative situation

Abstract: 

The article explores techniques for studying children’s compliance with rules in a normative situation and their psychometric estimation, presented by indicators of discriminativity, reliability, and validity. A factor analysis enabled the authors to determine four substantive factors, describing the rules in normative situations, which are typical of preschool age: “obedience, compliance with expectations of adults”, “safety”, “self-service, hygiene”, “self-control”. A degree of preschoolers’ compliance with rules is evaluated as their cultural congruence. This compliance with rules in a normative situation is estimated on the basis of rules, which are typical of preschool age. The degree of compliance was calculated in points.
