Adverbial specification as a means of displaying intentions of corporate authors in official documents

Abstract:

The article illustrates the usage of adverbial specification in official texts of regional laws. It analyzes thoroughness in the elaboration of legal acts in terms of time of their execution. The research reveals the fact that the usage of adverbial specification in prescriptive and descriptive texts differs. In directives (prescriptive texts), the enacting clause contains definitely fixed information. Nevertheless, authors do not always observe the requirements for correct and precise wording which impedes communication. Descriptive texts represent well-organized and structured authors’ notions about the past, however, they acquire general and evasive character with reference to the future.

Key words:

temporality, adverbial specification, descriptive and prescriptive texts, regional laws, authors of documents.
