Speech portrait of a German photosite user


Numerous contemporary studies of computer-mediated communication do not include linguistic research of photo sites, although this type of communication is gaining popularity in this country and abroad alongside with twitter-communication, studies of YouTube, SMS- studies, and other new media. It can be explained by a lack of linguistic research and analysis in the sphere of methodology related to computer-mediated communication. Photo site users post commentaries on photographs, evaluating them, sharing their emotions, impressions, and expressing criticism. Our research is aimed at the study of linguistic features of German photo site discourse in order to fill in this gap.
