Lingiustic implementation of the binary opposition freude (joy) / trauer (sorrow) in modern German fictional discourse

Abstract: 

The article deals with the issues of comparative linguistics, namely, the implementation of the binary opposition of lexemes freude (joy) / trauer (sorrow) in modern German fictional discourse. The author analyzes emotive lexemes basing on the works of modern German fiction and their translations into Russian. Emotive lexemes contribute much to the development of human moral categories, providing the data on the modern vision of the concepts expressed by the lexemes joy and sorrow. The article gives an explanation of the lexemes in German and Russian, using representative defining dictionaries in both languages. By analyzing fiction of modern German writers, the author selects examples from original novels and their Russian translations and provides a comparative analysis of the translations according to their semantic and linguistic properties.
