The functioning euphemisms in Chinese as mirrored by the Russian language (based on the subject group of death.)

Abstract: 

This article is devoted to the peculiarities of functioning of Chinese euphemisms as mirrored by the Russian language (the subject group of death). It gives definitions of “euphemia” and “euphemism”, and classifies the differences of euphemisms in terms of gender and social status. Structural and semantic deviations of euphemisms in the Russian and Chinese languages are identified.
