BINARY OPPOSITIONS OF “GOOD” AND “EVIL” IN THE WORKS OF MODERN GERMAN WRITERS (BASED ON I.TROYANOV’S NOVEL "THE COLLECTOR OF THE WORLDS")

Abstract: 

In the article the interaction of such binary oppositions as “good” and “evil” found in the works of mod-ern German writers and their Russian translation are considered. The interpretation of lexemes “good” and “evil” in the German and Russian languages is given and their common and distinguishing features are analyzed. The author cites examples from the novel “The Collector of the Worlds” by the German writer Iliya Troyanov. The author makes a comparative analysis of the translations on the semantic and verbal grounds, identifying similarities and differences in the ways of verbal expression.
