LINGUISTIC MEANS OF AUTOBIOGRAPHIC NARRATION IN THE NOVELLA NO ONE WRITES TO THE COLONEL BY GABRIEL GARCÍA MÁRQUEZ AND ITS TRANSLATIONS INTO RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH

Abstract: 

The article is devoted to the autobiographical aspects of Gabriel García Márquez’s novella No One Writes to the Colonel (El coronel no tiene quien le escriba), the brief linguistic analysis of the original version of the novella, and its translations into Russian by Yu.V.Vannikov and into English by J.S.Bernstein. Par-ticular emphasis is laid on the use of the subjunctive mood in the Spanish variant of the title and the in-dicative mood both in the Russian and English translations.
