NARRATIVE INSTANCES IN MARCEL PROUST’S NON-FICTION

Abstract: 

Proust’s experiments with various non-fiction genres can be viewed as an important step on his way to re-inventing the art of novel writing. Playing with different narrative voices, creating masks and characters the future author of In Search of Lost Time explores the ambiguity and uncertainty of the first-person nar-rative that he uses later on in establishing the narrative structure of his novel.
